Für Christof Kromp hat die 0:4-Heimniederlage vom Sonntag gegen den HCB Südtirol Alperia ein Nachspiel. Der VSV-Stürmer wurde vom DOPS für seinen Check von hinten für zwei Spiele gesperrt.
Der Vorfall ereignete sich in der 35. Spielminute beim Stand von 0:3, als Kromp einen Check von hinten ausführte und dafür eine Spieldauer-Disziplinarstrafe ausfasste. Der 19-Jährige ist am 27. November beim Auswärtsspiel in Ljubljana wieder spielberechtigt.

According to the Arbitrator and after reviewing video evidence, player Christof Kromp (#37) of EC VSV, time 34:19, made contact with an opponent deemed as Checking from Behind IIHF Rule 123. As per the EBEL Fundamental Rules V. 5,1 (b), video evidence was sent to PSC(IDOPS) for a final verdict.
From the perspective of DOPS, it is clear that Christof Kromp (#37) demonstrated a motion on the opposing player that is defined in the IIHF Rule Book as Checking from Behind. Considering the opposing player does not alter or change his positioning immediately before contact, the responsibility is on Christof Kromp to avoid or minimize contact when the opposing players back numbers are showing. The incident was raised to supplementary discipline. As the video shows, Christof Kromp has a visible sight line to the back numbers of the opposing player while positioned a distance considered far enough away to avoid or minimize contact. Christof Kromp continued to skate in the direction of the backside of the opposing player. Instead of altering his skating path to his right, away from back of opposing player, Christof Kromp slightly alters his skating path to the left to make contact from behind with the opposing player.
