Original-Urteil Colton Hargrove:
Colton Hargrove of Hydro Fehérvár AV19 got suspended for two games and has to pay a 500€ fee because of an incident deemed as checking to the head or neck in Tuesday’s game at HCB Südtirol Alperia.

Colton Hargrove (#7) of Hydro Fehervar AV19 time approximately 06:20, was involved in an incident deemed as checking to the head or neck (IIHF Rule 124). The video evidence was sent to the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline – Category 1- ‚Careless‘.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, Colton Hargrove (#7) of Hydro Fehervar AV19 will receive supplementary discipline under IIHF rule 124 – checking to the head or neck.

On February 23rd in Bozen, an incident occurred involving Fehervar player #7 Colton Hargrove and Bozen player #37 Karl Stollery, which is deemed checking to the head or neck. No penalty was assessed by the on-ice officials.

As the video shows, Fehervar dumped the puck into the attacking zone on a set play. With Bozen #37 Stollery skating directly from the Bozen players bench, he must take a direct path at the puck. At the same time, Fehervar #7 Hargrove is positioned ahead of 2 other Bozen players, which leaves Hargrove with the ability to, at minimum, have a regard for the puck. Instead, Hargrove delivered a body check which is deemed illegal in making contact to the head area of Stollery.

The incident was sent to the PSC and determined that supplementary discipline is required. It is determined that Stollery did not contribute to or deemed the cause of head area contact. Stollery did have a regard for the puck and maintained a body position that is considered normal in playing the puck. Considering Fehervar dumped the puck in and Hargrove is the lead attacking player to the puck, he must have some form of regard for the puck. Instead, Hargrove lifted his stick, leaned in and delivered a body check. The body check did have slight elevation, which directly lead to contact to the head area of Stollery. The PSC did take into consideration, that is also a bit of a protection play for Hargrove. Hargrove was not targeting the head, but still responsible for head contact.

Effective immediately, Colton Hargrove (#7) of Hydro Fehervar AV19 is suspended for 2 games and fined 500.00 Euros. 1 game for the respective check to the head or neck incident and 1 game as a repeat offender.
