Original-Urteil:
David Bodizar of iClinic Bratislava Capitals got suspended for three games and has to pay a 300€ fee because of an incident deemed as interference in Sunday’s game against HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie.
David Bodizar (#23) of iClinic Bratislava Capitals, time 21:07 was involved in an incident deemed as Interference (IIHF Rule 149). The video evidence was sent to the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline.
According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, David Bodizar (#23) of iClinic Bratislava, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 149 – Interference.
On march 7th in Bratislava, an interference incident occurred involving Bratislava player #23 David Boldizar on Innsbruck player #38 Dario Winkler. A major 5 minute major and game misconduct penalty as assessed by the on-ice officials.
As the video shows, with Innsbruck #47 Danielsen gaining puck possession in their D’Zone, Danielsen delivers an outlet pass most likely intended for his teammate #38 Winkler. The pass was delivered in an area where Winkler had no chance of gaining puck possession. Reading the play and the assumption is, #23 Boldizar anticipated that Winkler would receive the pass.
Instead of showing any regard for the puck, skating to minimize contact or what should have occurred, making no contact, Boldizar instead made a illegal and dangerous body check. After review of the incident by the PSC, it is determined that supplementary discipline is required. Considering that Winkler never did have puck possession and was not about to gain puck possession, he is not legal to be body checked. It can be assumed, not only was the check unsuspecting, but Winkler had no possibility to protect himself. Boldizar did deliver a body check, deemed ‚recklessly endangering‘. He also skated a significant distance and had plenty of opportunity to avoid the contact. Instead, Boldizar delivered a forceful check, in a head-on approach, causing an apparent injury.
Effective immediately, David Bodizar (#23) of iClinic Bratislava capitals is suspended for 3 games and fined 300.00 Euros.
