Massimo Zanet of the EHC Fassa Falcons got suspended for four games because of an incident deemed as Roughing.
Massimo Zanet (#9) of SHC Fassa Falcons, time 60:00, made contact with an opponent deemed as Roughing, IIHF Rule 158. The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline.
According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the AHL PSC, player (#9) Massimo Zanet of SHC Fassa Falcons, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 158 – Roughing.
On Saturday, February 15th, (#9) Massimo Zanet of SHC Fassa Falcons, was involved in an incident deemed as Roughing. A 5 minute + game misconduct for roughing was assessed by the on ice officials.
As the video shows, the game has concluded and the handshake has begun. It is important to note, that once a game is finished, so is any type of incidents directed at the opposing team. Furthermore, a handshake is done at the conclusion of every game to show sportsmanship. Instead of showing sportsmanship, Massimo Zanet took matters into his own hands and demonstrated unsportsmanlike conduct.
The reason for supplementary discipline is the punch type action during a handshake. While shaking hands, Zanet shook the hand of an opposing player, immediately followed by a punch in the head area. Although the punch didn’t appear to be overly forceful, it is not a determining factor. The determining factor and conclusive, is that Zanet did not participate with sportsmanship. Also, directed a unsuspecting punch at the opposing players head. Immediately after the punch, Zanet skated out of the handshake, which means he did not continue with rest of hand shake. This is not considered a reactionary type incident. Instead, it was per-meditated and with a purpose.
Effective immediately, Massimo Zanet (#9) of SHC Fassa Falcons is suspended for 4 games.
Key references:
This is unsportsmanlike conduct
Force directed at head area of opposing player

Detailliertes Urteil Gasper Glavic
Gasper Glavic of HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice got suspended for seven games because of kicking. Next game game Glavic is alloed wo play is on 4th of March against HC Pustertal.
Gasper Glavic (#47) of HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, time 49:09, made contact with an opponent deemed as Kicking, IIHF Rule 151. The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline – Category 3 – ‘Intentional’ – a willful purpose to injure. Incident is deemed serious in nature and is considered a willful negligence act of intent to cause injury, intending to affect the game by making illegal and/or unsuspecting contact.
According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the AHL PSC, player Gasper Glavic (#47) of HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 151 – Kicking.
On Saturday, February 15th, (#47) Gasper Glavic of HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, was involved in an incident deemed as Kicking on HC Pustertal forward (#21) Simon Berger.
As the video shows, Simon Berger has the puck froze against his skate, which is against the boards. With a multitude of players in the immediate area, a battle for the puck ensues. As the attacking player, Gasper Glavic enters the area where the puck is being protected by an opposing player. Instead of using his stick or body, Glavic uses his skate as a means of breaking the puck free.
The reason for supplementary discipline, is the actions Glavic used in pursuing the puck. Firstly, he used his right leg in a kicking manner which made skate to skate contact. This incident is deemed as a kicking motion.
With no outcome for the puck, Glavic then made a choice to kick a second time. He lifted his leg up and back to kick the opposing player in a stomping type manner. The forceful kick was targeted just above the ankle of the opposing player which is deemed dangerous.
Kicking is an act that has zero tolerance in the game. The use of a skate is recklessly endangering with a high probability of injury. It is inexcusable to consider there was 2 separate kicking incidents, with the 2nd incident being targeted and forceful. Effective immediately, Gasper Glavic (#47) of HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice is suspended for 7 games.
