Zwei Spiele Sperre resultieren wegen eines Vergehens im Montagsspiel gegen die spusu Vienna Capitals und zwei weitere Spiele als mehrfacher Wiederholungstäter.
Der 29-jährige Kanadier fehlt seinem Team somit auf jeden Fall für den weiteren Verlauf der Halbfinalserie gegen Wien und wäre auch in einem möglichen Finale zunächst gesperrt.
Mike Halmo of HCB Südtirol Alperia got suspended for four games and fined 1,000.00 Euros. Two games because of an incident deemed as charging in Monday’s game against the spusu Vienna Capitals and two games as a multiple repeat offender.
Michael Halmo (#91) of HCB Südtirol Alperia time 25:55, was involved in an incident deemed as charging (IIHF Rule 122). The video evidence was sent to the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline – Category 1- ‚Careless‘.
According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, Michael Halmo (#91) of HCB Südtirol Alperia will receive supplementary discipline under IIHF rule 122 – Charging.
On April 5th in Bozen, an incident occurred involving Bozen player #91 Michael Halmo and Vienna player #9 Ali Wukovits, which is deemed charging. A 2+2 minute penalty was assessed by the on-ice officials.
As the video shows, Wukovits gains puck possession in the attacking zone along the end boards. As Wukovits skates parallel with the boards and starts to circle up ice, Halmo is approaching, in a defensive manner to make a body check. The body check Halmo delivered is considered charging and deemed illegal.
The incident was sent to the ICEHL PSC and determined supplementary discipline is required. Consideration was taken into account, that both Halmo in being permitted to make a legal check and Wukovits knowing that he will be body checked, in this circumstance. The reason for supplementary discipline is the body check that Halmo delivered is considered excessive. It is determined it is not a body check for the sole purpose of separating the puck from the puck carrier, but an excessive check more in regards to separate the puck carrier from the game. Additionally, immediately before the check, instead of having a regard for the puck, Halmo began a ‚load up‘ action which helps creates unnecessary force. This load up approach also contributed to elevation into the check.
It is determined that Wukovits was aware of both the angle and approach of Halmo coming. It is also determined, that Wukovits does alter his body slightly before contact, but due to an action of preparing for a check, not a body action that significantly contributed to the force he took. It was also determined that although it maybe deemed a dangerous distance from the boards, that oneness is not on Halmo for this cause.
Effective immediately, Michael Halmo (#91) of HCB Südtirol Alperia is suspended for 4 games and fined 1,000.00 Euros. 2 games for the respective charging incident and 2 games as a multiple repeat offender.
