Der letzte Spieltag der Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (EBEL) hatte vor DOPS für Phil Lakos (Vienna Capitals) und Roman Simicek (HC Orli Znojmo) ein Nachspiel. Während der Wiener-Verteidiger ein Spiel pausieren muss erhält der Head Coach von Orli Znojmo eine Verwarnung.

Nach seinem zweiten Fight 2017/18 beim Gastspiel in Villach muss Philippe Lakos von den Vienna Capitals ein Match pausieren. Das Gastspiel in Villach hatte für Philippe Lakos von den Vienna Capitals noch ein Nachspiel. Genauer gesagt, sein Fight mit Robert Flick. Nachdem sich der Verteidiger mit den EC VSV-Stürmer bereits seinen zweiten Kampf 2017/18 lieferte und dafür erneut eine größere Strafe kassierte, ist er automatisch für das nächste Match gesperrt. Seinen ersten Saison-Fight lieferte sich der Routinier übrigens am 01. Oktober 2017 im Heimspiel gegen den EC VSV, damals mit Nico Bunner.

Außerdem wurde vom DOPS gegen den Headcoach des HC Orli Znojmo, Roman Simicek, eine Verwarnung wegen unsportlichen Verhaltens ausgesprochen.

Philippe Lakos of Vienna Capitals is automatically suspended for one game after his 2nd fighting major 2017/18.

According to the Arbitrator and after reviewing video evidence, the player Philippe Lakos (#4) of Vienna Capitals, in the game at EC VSV on Sunday, October 22nd 2017 time 19:33, engaged in a fight with an opponent deemed as Fighting IIHF Rule 141. Neither fight was it determined that the opposing player was the instigator. Lakos was deemed a willing combatant, constituting his 2nd fighting major in the 2017/18 EBEL season on 22.10.2017.
Philippe Lakos is suspended automatically for the ensuing EBEL game, according to the EBEL Casebook Disciplinary Measures | Supplementary Discipline (DOPS) | (2) which states “If a player is assessed a fighting major for the 2nd time during the EBEL regular season, such player is assessed an automatic one (1) game suspension, in addition to any other penalties assessed.” Previous fighting major: EBEL game #48: Vienna Capitals vs. EC VSV on 01/10/17.
From the perspective of DOPS and according to the EBEL Casebook -Disciplinary Measures | Supplementary Discipline (DOPS) | (2) Philippe Lakos (#4) of Vienna Capitals is suspended for 1 game, effective immediately.

Next game Philippe Lakos (#4) of Vienna Capitals is allowed to play: 28.10.2017: Vienna Capitals vs. EC Red Bull Salzburg.

Urteil Roman Simicek:
Because of Unsportsmanlike Conduct DOPS spoke out a reprimand against Roman Simicek, Headcoach of HC Orli Znojmo.

According to the arbitrator, the coach, Roman Simicek of HC Orli Znojmo, at the conclusion of the game disputed the game officials officials decisions, deemed abusive and not in the best interest or integrity of the EBEL.
The EBEL Casebook states under Rule 116, Abuse of Officials/Rule 168-Unsportsmanlike Conduct:
A player, goalkeeper, coach or other team officials shall not challenge or dispute the rulings of an official, before, during or after a game.
At the conclusion of the game, Roman Simicek displayed a conduct that was in a displeasure of the game officials, directly at and to the game officials. Both at the exit area of the ice and again near the game officials locker room Roman Simicek through verbal disagreement and physically demonstrating a negative behavior, showed his displeasure for the game officials based on his sole opinion.
The EBEL does not tolerate such behavior, when directed at and to the game officials.

From the perspective of DOPS Roman Simicek of HC Orli Znojmo is suspended for 0 games and an official EBEL Reprimand is imposed. Effective immediately, Roman Simicek of HC Orli Znojmo will not receive an immediate suspension, but is imposed as a disciplinary measure – an official EBEL Reprimand; which means for the purpose of a possible future EBEL suspension or fine if/when Roman Simicek is deemed guilty of an act, he will be considered a repeat offender.
