Reid McNeill von den Dornbirn Bulldogs wurde wegen Boardings für zwei Spiele gesperrt. Der 26-jährige Kanadier ist am 1. März gegen den EC Panaceo VSV wieder spielberechtigt.

Reid McNeill of the Dornbirn Bulldogs got suspended for two games because of boarding.
Reid McNeill (#5) of Dornbirn Bulldogs, was involved in an incident deemed by the on-ice officials as Holding (IIHF Rule 144). The video evidence was sent to the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline – Category 1 – ‘Careless’. According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga PSC, player Reid McNeill (#5) of Dornbirn Bulldogs will receive supplementary discipline under rule 119 – Boarding.
On Sunday, February 17th, in Znojmo, an incident occurred involving Dornbirn player #5 Reid McNeill which is deemed boarding, causing an apparent injury. With Znojmo in possession of the puck and entering the attacking zone, a cross ice pass occurred. The Znojmo player for the intended pass, was #88, Anthony Luciani. The defending player, who was positioned behind and with no stick was Dornbirn player #5, Reid McNeill.
As the video shows, the puck approached in the vicinity of Anthony Luciani skates, which means he did not have possession or control of the puck. At the same time, Reid McNeill with no legal play, positioned behind and with no stick, chose to use his hands as a force point for contact. Reid McNeill’s hands were located above the waist line on the left arm of Anthony Luciani, which takes him off balance at a high rate of speed.
The contact into the end boards caused an apparent injury. It was taken into consideration the push is not that forceful, but the speed, distance from the boards, from behind and the use of both hands caused a recklessly endangering situation where the opposing player had no way to defend himself.
Effective immediately, Reid McNeill (#5) is suspended for 2 games.
