Philipp Kreuzer vom EC-KAC II wurde wegen eines Fußtritts für ein Spiel gesperrt. Auch David Slivnik vom EHC Lustenau wurde aufgrund einer Tätlichkeit gegenüber eines Offiziellen für ein Spiel gesperrt.

Philipp Kreuzer (#91) of EC-KAC, time approximately 56:20, made contact with an opponent deemd kicking, IIHF Rule 151. The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline – Category 1 – ‘Careless’.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the AHL PSC, player Philipp Kreuzer of EC-KAC, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 151 – Kicking.

On January 12th, in Dornbirn, an incident occurred, deemed as kicking, involving (#91) Philipp Kreuzer of EC-KAC. As the video shows, Philipp Kreuzer is knocked down by an opposing player in front of the Bregenzerwald net. With the opposing player remaining in a standing/upright position and located directly over top of Philipp Kreuzer – Philipp Kreuzer is in a defenseless position. It is felt that with Philipp Kreuzer in a defenseless position, feels a need to protect himself.

The reason for supplementary discipline, is in a defenseless position or not, a player is never allowed to use his skate in a kicking motion. Philipp Kreuzer elevates his right leg for the purpose of, at minimum, pushing away the opposing player and considered a kicking motion. As per the IIHF rule book, an attempt to or kick motion is considered an automatic Match penalty which constitutes a minimum 1 game suspension.

The AHL PSC, has determined the leg motion as an attempt to kick, as no contact was made on the opposing player. The kicking act is considered recklessly endangering.
Effective immediately, Philipp Kreuzer (#91) suspended for 1 game.

David Slivnik (#24) of EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau, time 57:46, made contact with an Official deemed as Abuse of officials, IIHF Rule 116.

According to the Arbitrator and ruling of the AHL PSC, player David Slivnik (#24) of EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 116 – Abuse of officials.
On January 12th, in Kitzbühel, at a stoppage in play, (#24) David Slivnik of EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau applied physical force on a game official. After a penalty shot was called by the Referee, against David Slivnik in the 3rd period, the player appeared to be very unhappy with the call and skated towards and directly confronted the referee. When the linesmen arrived, he worked to locate himself, as instructed, between the Referee and David Slivnik. The linesmen is instructed and taught to do so, in an attempt to diffuse the situation and avoid further penalties. The reason for supplementary discipline is David Slivnik, in an emotional state, pushed the linesmen. There was no contact necessary, as the player was calmly addressed by the linesmen.

As per the AHL Casebook under physical abuse of an official – A player or team official who deliberately applies physical force in any manner against an on-ice official and is detrimental to the conducting of the game is to be assessed a game misconduct. There is no video available. Based on 4 game official reports and a supervisor report, David Slivnik is deemed guilty of physical abuse of an officials under category 1, which is defined by physically demeans or threatens or applies force solely for the purpose of getting free of an official.
Effective immediately, David Slivnik (#24) is suspended for 1 game.
